Project Description

The project covered the emergency opening of 1,700 km of secondary roads in the two provinces immediately after the war.

The project went hand in hand with the mine clearing of road sections and structures and involved the rehabilitation of roads and of damaged structures.

It had several logistical problems due to difficulties in accessing a number of areas.

Service Provided

Due to access problems during planning stage, the project required special inputs during construction regarding design of pavement and structures.
The main tasks of Stange Consult included the procurement of materials and services; Surveying and re-surveying of roads and structures; Design of structures; Presentation to client; Administration and supervising of works contracts as well as finalization of projects.

Key Staff consisted of a team leader, a bridge design engineer and two resident engineers.
