Supervision of the construction of 278 km of roadwork – comprising 32 km surfaced road and 246 km gravel road as well as the construction of 4 maintenance unit base camps.
The project was based on design and tender documents prepared under phase 1 of the programme.
The works were carried out under construction contracts in accordance with the FIDIC Conditions of Contracts, the SATCC Standard Specifications and ANE general rules including environmental regulations.
Project management ensured contractor’s compliance with specified works, time schedule, work standards and quality. It also covered the control of material testing and measurement, site instructions and assessment of claims, site meetings, liaising with client as well as preparation of progress reports.
The key staff consisted of a team leader, a resident engineer, a materials engineer and two inspectors of works.
