The project covered evaluation and repair of damages caused by the devastating floods in 2000.
Works on some 1,200 km of road were identified and contracts prepared for the rehabilitation works. Construction of the road and bridge works was supervised including the construction of one new 4 x 30m span bridge.
Services included the identification, quantification and elaboration of flood damages; Design of replacement structures; Tender documentation and supervision of the construction works. The project management was to ensure contractor compliance with specified works, time schedule and quality assurance; Control of material testing and measurement; Site instructions and assessment of claims; Site meetings and liaising with the client in all project matters as well as progress reports.
Key Staff consisted of a team leader, a bridge design engineer, two resident engineers and a damage evaluation engineer.
